Marmot Pass, WA

This weekend we took a backpacking trip to Marmot Pass with some friends. Situated on the eastern edge of the Olympics, the pass has views of a few of the largest peaks in the Olympics, Glacier Peak & the Cascades across the sound, and the Strait of Juan de Fuca to the north. We camped in a meadow just below the pass, so we were able to watch the sunset over the Olympics as we ate a picnic dinner, and the sunrise over the Cascades when we woke up. We knew it was going to be a good hike (the WTA description is pretty epic) but this may be the absolutely most idyllic hike I've ever been on.
