After spending most of my life on the east coast, it was strange how instantly it felt like home here. Being able to see mountains from just about anywhere, the endless bodies of water, and the abundance of always-green trees give the city a really special vibe.

- The Frye Museum for the one amazing room of decadance
- Japanese Garden for the peace and calm
- Henry Art Gallery for the art I didn't know was art
- Gasworks Park for the grassy hills and city views
- South Lake Union for the boats of all kinds
- Kerry Park for the postcard-like view
- Olympic Sculpture Park for the sunsets
Foods:
- Greenleaf (Belltown) for cheap and delicious Vietnamese in a basement
- Tanakasan for sake slushies and salty caramel wings
- Umi for spendy sushi and an awesome dining room
- Kushi Bar for less spendy sushi and a good dining room
- List for black truffle gnocchi and half off happy hour
- Skillet for boozy milkshakes and "the chub"
- Westward for a unique lakefront vibe
- Little Water Cantina for margs and the amazing patio
- Queen Anne Beerhall for big groups getting rowdy
- Joule for trendy korean-fusion
- Serious Pie for very good wood-fired brussel sprouts. Also pizza

- Nordstrom for getting lost in 5 levels of flagship luxury
- REI for getting lost (literally) in the park around their flagshop store, and any kind of gear you could want
- Feathered Friends for all the gear REI doesn't carry
- Second Ascent for all the gear, but cheaper
- Evo for trendy but practical fashion
